Visitor Visa

A visitor visa is the same as a temporary resident visa. It is an official document that is affixed in your passport if it is determined that you meet the requirements needed to enter Canada. Most travellers need a visitor visa to travel to Canada and might need one if  transiting through a Canadian airport on the way to a final destination. Most visitors require a visitor visa to visit Canada and can stay up to 6 months in Canada if issued one. The need for a visitor visa depends on;

  • the type of travel document you plan to travel with
  • the country that issued your travel document
  • your nationality
  • your mode of travel to Canada for your trip

Super Visa: Parents/Grandparents

The Super Visa is a multi-entry visa that provides multiple entries for a period up to 10 years. The key difference is that the Super Visa allows eligible parents and grandparents visit family in Canada for up to two years at a time without the need to renew their status, while a 10-year multiple entry visa would only have a status period for each entry of six months only. There are a few conditions to be met to be eligible for the Super Visa. One key one is that unlike the visitor visa, the family member in Canada must show proof that they are able to financially support the parent or grandparents throughout the duration their stay

Visits for Business Purposes

Business visitors usually stay in Canada for a few days or a few weeks, but are able to stay for up to 6 months. You’re a business visitor if you: are visiting Canada temporarily to look for ways to grow your business, to invest or to advance your business relationships. You could also be coming to take part in trainings, conferences or to work temporarily with a branch of your company. The main thing is that your primary place of work and renumeration remains outside Canada. You will be required to obtain either a visitor visa or an electronic travel document (eTA)

Visit and Work

There are certain situations when you can visit and work in Canada at same time. This class is called the international experience class. It is targeted at young people between the ages of 18 and 35 depending on your country of origin. There are 3 main sub categories under this class and they include; working holiday visa, young professionals visa and International Co-op visas.
